Dr Lachlan McNamara is an Emergency Physician and Fellow of the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine (FACEM), with advanced training in perioperative and musculoskeletal medicine.
He completed his medical training across the Monash, Alfred and Epworth networks and has worked with several orthopaedic groups throughout his career.
Dr McNamara’s interest in pain management developed through emergency medicine, where he saw the challenges patients can face accessing timely pain care. He has since undertaken substantial postgraduate education and supervised clinical training in interventional pain management techniques.
His current interests include musculoskeletal and interventional pain management for acute and chronic conditions, alongside orthopaedic and spinal care.
Working within a multidisciplinary team, he combines interventional techniques with a broader understanding of surgical and non-surgical treatment pathways, with an emphasis on improving function and supporting appropriate, evidence-based pain care.
