Billing and payments information

  • Monash House Private Hospital has relationships with all private health funds.
  • It is important that you check with your health insurance company that you are financially covered for your operation. With recent changes to policies, some items (operations) have been removed from some health insurance plans. 
  • We will also verify your level of private health cover and our office staff will inform you by text of any excess or additional charges you may need to pay within 48 hours of your admission time.
  • Any outstanding amounts not covered by your insurer (such as co-payments or excess fees) must be paid at admission.
  • You may pay by credit card (Visa, MasterCard), EFTPOS (1% surcharge for EFTPOS), PayID, bank cheque, cash or direct deposit. Please note: cash payments are discouraged.
  • Are you adequately covered for private hospital care? Read the the Australian Private Hospitals Association flyer for more information.
  • You will be required to pay the full estimated cost of your admission, at admission.
  • We will provide a cost estimate in advance of your admission via email.
  • You may pay by credit card (Visa, MasterCard), EFTPOS (1% surcharge for EFTPOS), PayID, bank cheque, cash or direct deposit. Please note: cash payments are discouraged.
  • If you wish to look at alternative ways to fund all costs relating to your treatment we partner with Total Lifestyle Credit.  Please note Monash House Private Hospital is in no way compensated should you chose to utilise this service – https://medical.tlc.com.au/monash-hospital/
  • Any additional costs incurred during your stay will be settled at discharge. If not, a member of our finance team will contact you directly.
  • You will receive accounts from other healthcare providers involved in your care, such as your surgeon, anaesthetist, surgical assistant, pathology, radiology, or allied health professionals.
  • Any queries on these accounts needs to be raised directly with the relevant provider
  • For Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA) or Australian Defence Force patients, we will handle claim lodgement on your behalf.
  • For WorkCover or Third Party (TAC) claims, full payment (except ancillary charges) is required on admission unless written approval has been received.
