Dr Michael Silagy is a caring and supportive specialist Obstetrician and Gynaecologist, who is dedicated to delivering compassionate, patient-centred care. Consulting in Melbourne’s Bayside area in Brighton, and at Cabrini Mother & Baby Centre in Malvern, Michael works in partnership with women and families to support them through every stage of their gynaecological and reproductive health journey.
After completing his Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery with Honours, Michael has undergone extensive specialist training through Monash Health, Eastern Health, and Peninsula Health, obtaining his Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists. Michael has trained across both general and complex obstetric and gynaecological care, as well as further training in advanced laparoscopy, including minimally invasive procedures such as laparoscopic hysterectomy, and management of endometriosis. Michael’s approach combines warmth and support with clinical excellence. He believes that patients deserve to be heard, respected, and actively involved in their care. Michael’s consultations are marked by thoughtful listening, clear communication, and collaborative decision making.
A dedicated educator, Michael also is an adjunct clinical lecturer through Monash University. He is passionate about guiding the next generation of doctors and fosters professional development to ensure quality patient care across all levels of medical training.
Michael considers his family his greatest achievement. He finds joy in spending quality time with his wife, two young sons, and groodle, and is always looking for new adventures to share together!
