
Dr Tu Tran is a Melbourne-based ophthalmologist with subspecialist training in cataract and glaucoma surgery. She brings a depth of clinical insight to each case, combining subspecialist expertise with a thoughtful, patient-focused approach.
Dr Tran completed her medical degree at the University of Queensland and then began her ophthalmology training in the UK before returning to Australia to complete fellowships in general ophthalmology and glaucoma. She gained advanced surgical experience at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital, managing complex glaucoma and challenging cataract cases. She also holds a Master of Public Health in epidemiology.
Highly respected in her field, Dr Tran is an examiner for the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists’ Advanced Clinical Examinations.
Dr Tran is fluent in English and Vietnamese, providing culturally sensitive care and communication for a diverse patient population. She is actively involved in global eye health initiatives through her work with the not-for-profit organisation Sight For All.
