Collaboration and continuous learning in eye care: a look back at the latest Monash House educational evening
Monash House Private Hospital recently welcomed a group of dedicated local eye care professionals for our latest Ophthalmology Educational Evening, designed to foster learning, collaboration, and professional growth within the ophthalmic community.
Building on the success of our inaugural event last November, this session aimed to deepen the connection between local optometrists and Moansh House’s Visiting Medical Officers (VMOs), promoting high-quality patient care and seamless referral pathways.
Expert speakers and valuable insights
Attendees were treated to presentations from two highly respected ophthalmologists, each offering unique insights into their areas of expertise:
Dr Nicholas Cheng, a comprehensive ophthalmologist who focuses on advanced cataract and refractive surgery, shared his perspectives on the latest innovations in surgical techniques and patient care.
Associate Professor Ehud Zamir, an internationally recognised expert in complex cataract surgery, glaucoma, and ocular inflammation, provided a deep dive into cutting-edge approaches to challenging eye conditions.
Both doctors highlighted the importance of collaboration and continuous learning, emphasising the critical role that advanced training and open dialogue play in improving patient care and surgical outcomes.
Building a stronger medical community
Monash House educational evenings enable local optometrists and ophthalmologists to build meaningful connections, share real-world experiences, and strengthen the networks that drive exceptional patient outcomes.
Attendees were able to claim 2.5 CPD hours from Optometry Australia for attending this professional development event.
Looking ahead
As Monash House Private Hospital continues to support the ongoing professional development of its medical community, we remain committed to hosting educational events that enhance clinical knowledge, strengthen referral pathways, and ultimately improve patient care.
